Daily announcements
What the office reads to the school each morning — picture day codes, college visits, locker rooms closed, the FFA fruit sale, who to see about next semester. The district posts it daily and overwrites it daily.
What turns up in them
These are not notices in the formal sense. A week of them in a recent autumn carried: the flu and COVID vaccination clinic date; a middle school dance, $3, dress casual; the band and choir concert in the auditorium; Jostens picture codes for the elementary and the middle and high school; a reminder that juniors each needed to see the counsellor about next semester's schedule, spring testing and graduation before winter break; the boys' locker rooms closed for five days; a snowmobile safety field day run by the Covered Bridge Riders in Zumbrota; the FFA fruit sale closing, with delivery the first week of December; and two college visits in the media centre.
Taken one at a time they are trivia. Taken together they are the only daily record of what the school actually did, and the district keeps none of it — each morning's page replaces the last.
Where to read it
If the district would like these archived here the way the photographs and board agendas are, it takes one line of code and no work at their end. Say the word.
