Following the season
Equipment, uniforms and travel beyond the school budget come through the K-W Athletic Booster Club.
The Knights left the Hiawatha Valley League for the Gopher Conference in 2021–22. “Size-wise we’ve been going down with our student population,” the activities director at the time, Randy Hockinson, told the Kenyon Leader when the move was announced. The school’s MSHSL classification enrollment is 204 and its administrative region is 1A.
Where it stands
Football is the hardest assignment on this campus right now. The Knights went winless in 2025 and opened 2026 with four straight losses — 27-0 at Zumbrota-Mazeppa, 54-26 at Cotter, 14-6 to Randolph and 43-20 to Cannon Falls on homecoming, the last of those a fight for the Little Brown Jug. Cole Walters is in his third season and returns all but two starters on each side of the ball, with senior quarterback Jaydan Carroll. The schedule does not soften: Goodhue, a recent Class AA runner-up, is next.
