Drawn from the 2,115 individual K-W runs recorded across 108 meets. Cross country is run on whatever ground the host has, and the courses are not the same length of effort — the Pine Island and Hayfield fields run fast, the state course at St. Olaf does not — so these are times, not a ranking of runners. 20 seasons are on record and the archive thins before 2017; 2008, 2009 and 2016 are missing from it altogether, so this is the fastest on record rather than the fastest ever run.

Cross country runs with its co-operative partner rather than with the rest of K-W athletics: the team has raced the Hiawatha Valley League championship meet every year on record since 2019, including every year since the Knights left that league for the Gopher Conference in 2021–22. It moved up from Section 1A and Class A to Section 1AA and Class AA in 2021.
Our report
Where it stands
Cross country runs as a co-operative with Zumbrota-Mazeppa, which is why its Bound pages sit under that school and why it still races the Hiawatha Valley League championship meet while the rest of K-W athletics plays in the Gopher Conference. Jared Andring is head coach, with Ann Paukert and Lee Sjolander assisting. The boys have won two of the five meets run this season — Hayfield on September 10 with 35 points and Pine Island on September 22 with 45 — and were second at their own invitational in Zumbrota on October 1. Two runners carry the scoring. Caleb Kevan, a senior, won at Pine Island in 16:10.3, the fastest 5,000 metres by a K-W boy since his own 15:57.9 at Hayfield a year earlier. Christian McCutcheon, a ninth grader, has never finished more than half a minute from Kevan and has beaten him in three of the five. Behind the two of them the scoring five is almost entirely ninth grade: Braxton Moehnig, Malachi Parker and Henry Stone all set personal records at Pine Island, where the team's first-to-fifth spread was 1:18. The girls have brought five to the line in each of the last three meets, which is exactly the number that scores. Lily Duden, a senior, has been the first K-W finisher at all five, with a season best of 20:18.5 at Pine Island; in that race the gap from her to the team's fifth runner was six minutes. Fifth of seven at Hayfield is the best team finish so far. Thirteen seventh and eighth graders have raced the middle school and C events. Micah Parker won the two-mile C race at Zumbrota in 12:47.3 and was third over 2,400 metres at Pine Island in 9:03.6, both personal records. The local papers have not written the program up on its own in the period searched, so the results on this page are the record.
No article in The Kenyon Leader, the Post Bulletin, KTTC or the Wanamingo Messenger turned up for this activity on its own. That is not a judgment on the program — small-school coverage follows whoever files, and some seasons simply go unwritten. If something has been published, tell us and it goes on the page.
