Cannon Falls, Kenyon, the road
Luke Redfield was born in Duluth in 1983 and grew up in Cannon Falls and Kenyon, moving with his father's pastorates and later to Alliance, Nebraska. He taught himself guitar after hearing Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited, busked across Europe in 2006, toured the country from Minneapolis to Austin in 2007, and spent 2008 in a small off-grid cabin in Homer, Alaska he called the Birdhouse.

His albums are Ephemeral Eon (2010), Tusen Takk (2012, the Norwegian for "a thousand thanks"), East of Santa Fe (2013), The Cartographer (2015) and Uncover the Magic (2015). Collaborators have included Haley Bonar, members of Andrew Bird's and Bon Iver's bands, Peter Wolf Crier and producer Brandon Eggleston. City Pages named him a "Picked to Click" artist in 2010; The A.V. Club called his work "a zoom out from traditional folk and country music." "Four Cities," "Cowboy Song," "Fields of Idaho" and "Comeback Kids" are the songs most often cited; his music was used in the series Californication. He is also a competitive disc golfer, a sport Kenyon's Riverside Park course offers free.
